    Adult: Yes. Put the guitar between the bed and the cupboard.

    Child: Yes, OK

4. Adult: And put the tennis ball under the desk.
    Child: Pardon? Put the tennis ball where?

5. Adult: Now the book! Put it on the mat.

    Adult: And how old are you Kim?
    Child: I’m 7. Adult: 7?
    Child: Yes.
Can you see the answers? Now you listen, and write a name or a number.

    Child: Yes, it is.
    Adult: What’s his name?
    Child: His name is Sam.
    Adult: How do you spell that?
    Child: S-A-M.

2. Adult: And how old is Sam?
    Child: He’s 5.
    Adult: Sorry?
    Child: He’s 5. He’s my little brother.

3. Adult: And is this your cat, Sue?
    Child: Yes, it is.
    Adult: And what’s her name?
    Child: Her name’s Blacky, because she’s black.
    Adult: Is that B-L-A-C-K-Y?
    Child: Yes, that’s right.
    Adult: That’s a good name for a black cat.

4. Adult: Where do you live, Sue?
    Child: In Park Street.
    Adult: Park Street? Can you spell Park?
    Child: P-A-R-K.

5. Adult: What number is your house?
    Child: Our house is number 12.
    Adult: 12?
    Child: Yes.

    Sam: Mum? What have I got for my birthday?
    Mum: Open the box and look.
    Sam: Is it a watch? …Oh, it’s a book.
    Mum: Is it?
    Sam: No, it’s not! It’s a computer game! Thanks Mum, that’s great!
         
    2. Where is Anna’s robot?

    Anna: Mum, I can’t find my robot!
    Mum: It’s on the sofa.
    Anna: No it isn’t!
    Mum: Oh sorry, here it is, under the table.

    3. Which is May’s favourite animal?
    May: The zoo is great, Dad.
    Dad: Look at the snakes
    May: Ooh… I don’t like the snakes. But I like the spiders.
    Dad: You like the spiders?
    May: Yes, but my favourite animals are the frogs.

    4. What’s Pat having for lunch?
    Pat: What’s for lunch Dad?
    Dad: Chicken and chips.
    Pat: I don’t like chicken. Can I have a burger?
    Dad: OK, burger and chips.
    Pat: Can I have an apple?
    Dad: No, we haven’t got any apples. You can have a pear.
    Pat: OK.

     5. What’s Tony doing?
    Girl: Is Tony on the beach?
    Boy: No, he’s in the park with his friends.
    Girl: Is he playing football?
    Boy: No, he’s playing basketball.

    Adult: OK, now colour it black.
    Child: Sorry?
    Adult: Colour the hat in the water black.
Can you see the black hat in the water? This is an example. Now you listen, and colour.

1. Adult: Now find the hat in the tree.
    Child: I can see it. Can I colour it?
    Adult: Yes, colour it green.
    Child: OK. A green hat in the tree.

2. Adult: Can you see the man on the boat?
    Child: Yes. Is he fishing?
    Adult: That’s right. He’s fishing, and he’s wearing a hat. Well, colour his hat blue.
    Child: Right. The man on the boat with a blue hat.

3. Adult: Look at the children playing in the sand.
    Child: The boy and the girl?
    Adult: Yes. Colour the hat in front of the boy red.
    Child: OK, I’m colouring it red now.

4. Child: Look, the girl’s wearing a hat.
    Adult: Yes, she is. Colour it yellow.
    Child: A yellow hat for the girl.
    Adult: Yes, well done.

5. Adult: Can you see the hat next to the kite?
    Child: Yes. It’s on the mat next to the kite.
    Adult: Colour it brown.
    Child: Pardon?
    Adult: Colour the hat next to the kite brown.
    Child: OK.
